Sunday 27th May - Treasure Hunt, Leadenham

As part of the celebrations of the Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth in 2012, Leadenham Diamond Jubilee Association are organising a Classic Car Treasure Hunt on Sunday, May 27th 2012, starting and finishing in the village of Leadenham, between Newark and Sleaford.

All owners of pre-1980 classic cars are invited to enter. As an organised road event, the treasure hunt will be authorised by the Motor Sports Association.

Drivers and crews will assemble from 11.30 for a picnic in the grounds of historic Leadenham House, with far reaching views over the Trent valley. Cars will set off at intervals from 1pm and the treasure hunt will conclude at Leadenham Village Hall with an informal classic car show (open to non-competitors), hog roast and prize-giving.

First prize will be a hamper with unique trophies for first, second and other awards including “people’s choice” for the most popular car. The entry fee is £15 per car and includes a commemorative rally-style plaque for all entries received on or before 31st March.

The treasure hunt will be an informal event comprising a gentle run mostly on minor local roads in this attractive part of Lincolnshire and is a great way to use your car in an organised event with other classic car owners. For obvious reasons we recommend at least two persons per car.

Entries are limited to 100 cars and as we are looking for a good variety, we do reserve the right to refuse entry to vehicles which we consider are “over-represented”, so the sooner you enter, the more you can be sure of your place.

We look forward to welcoming you to Leadenham. To enter, please email Tim Sisson at sissonlb@btinternet.com or telephone 01400 272171 evenings and weekends or 07967 352218.
